About All About Mortgage
All About Mortgage is a small independent publication that has covered home loans and household money since 2004. We publish 20 guides in six areas: mortgages, refinancing, home buying, debt, insurance and family finance. That is the whole remit — you will not find unrelated lifestyle content here.
Experience behind the guides
Every guide is written by someone who has done the thing they are writing about, either professionally or personally. Where a writer's own experience is relevant, it appears in the "Editor's note" box inside the article rather than being hidden in a byline.
Who writes here
Seymore Hennigan
Mortgages & refinancing
Spent eleven years in retail lending before writing full time. Has personally closed on four homes and refinanced twice — once badly, which is where most of his advice comes from.
Cindy Morus
Debt & household budgeting
Certified financial coach who has sat across the table from several hundred families rebuilding after job loss, medical debt and divorce.
Karl Augustine
Family finance & divorce
Writes on prenuptial agreements, separation and protecting both partners' finances, drawing on mediation casework rather than theory.
Steven Gillman
Home buying & mobile homes
Former real estate agent who has bought, renovated and sold low-cost housing across the Midwest, including twelve years living in a mobile home he later sold at a profit.
How we work
- Figures and examples are checked against lender documentation before publishing.
- Guides are reviewed at least yearly; corrections are noted on the page.
- We never publish paid editorial, sponsored links or affiliate-only "review" pages.
- All photography is licensed or produced in-house — no copyrighted images.
